I’m a fat person with a food obsession trapped in a fitness minded physique. There’s nothing more enjoyable than cooking a huge 7 course meal for friends, wine pairings, homemade desserts and watching my guests enjoy every bite. That’s pleasure!!
Fast forward to 2010 holiday time and having to stick to a very tight diet because I have a big shoot coming up on January. Feel like crawling up the walls for sugar and savory. Here’s two products that I’ve found that sooth the dieters’ struggles.
Ralph’s is part of the Kroger chain and so this product is readily available at Kroger subsidiaries. It’s fortified with milk protein concentrate and whey protein concentrate to make an awesome nutritional profile – 60 cals/1.5g fat/4g carb/12g protein. Think the poor man’s version of Greek yogurt since it only costs $0.69.
The flavors I bought it in:
- Vanilla Chai
- Strawberry Pomegranate
- Pumpkin Pie
- Spiced Pear
Ralph’s White Cheddar Rice Cakes
It’s heavy on the cheesy flavor so it really hits the spot. 1 rice cake is 40 cals/0.5g fat/8g carb/1g protein. When I was in Europe, I used to buy plain rice cakes, drizzle with garlic powder, spray butter, and parmesan cheese.
Self restraint here, 1 rice cake a day for me.
